If anyone found a small moleskin notebook with a folded up conference agenda stuck in it, please contact me at njames@media-democracy.net.

I think I left it on stage after the Supporting the Emerging Media Ecology session in the auditorium. Thanks!

Don't say newspaper when you mean media
Don't say NY Times when you mean newspapers generally
Don't say read when you mean take in information
Don't say reader when you mean audience
Don't say blog when you mean new media or participatory media
Don't say US when you could say the world

Hey, JZ. I need a copy of your book, which I'm sourcing for my Publius piece for Berkman @ 10. Can you bring one (or a few) to L.A.? Or do you know a store in Cambridge where I can pick one up today (Easter)? Long shot, I know...

Persephone Miel posted Birds of a feather lunch ideas?
We'd like a few people to volunteer to host completely informal discussions over lunch. Not required, but nice for people who know they have something to talk about to make sure they get the chance and also for shy persons to know they can show up somewhere and be welcome. We'd like them to be, like the conference, open and potentially interesting to, people from different places. So "All NPR folks come talk about office politics" should b...... [read more]
Nathaniel James: I would attend your lunch, for sure, Persephone, and I would also offer up a topic "Better Media, Stronger Democracy: connecting efforts in the journalism and academic worlds to the grassroots media activists and the policy advocates community." Short and snappy titles are not my forte, unfortunately.
Charlie Beckett: I guess there are three areas that I would like to focus on that others might find useful - as a journalist/academic who runs a media think-tank in London (Polis/LSE) with a book coming out on networked journalism I would be interested in hosting chats on: 1 What do we research to make this stuff happen? 2 How do we raise the quality of the debate in Europe? 3 What changes happen to the journalist in a social participation media? Cheers Charlie

Persephone Miel posted Send us your wisdom!
Hi All, Here https://cyber.law.harvard.edu/node/4110 on the Berkman site we are posting documents and/or links that people would like to share with other participants (and the world, theoretically, the site is open). So, if you have anything you'd like folks to read that's not suitable for a blog post, email it to me at pmiel atsign cyber dot law dot harvard dot edu and I'll post it. Drafts are very ok. Short is very very recommended....... [read more]
